Zac Brown Band’s Southern Ground Music & Food Festival is coming back to Charleston this year. The two day outdoor festival will be held on Saturday, October 20 and 21st at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island.
There is a two stage set up allowing for the music to go on seamlessly. Performers include nightly performances by Zac Brown Band with Gregg Allman and John Mayer plus The Avett Brothers, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, The Charlie Daniels Band, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Wailers, Jerry Douglas, Los Lonely Boys, JJ Grey & Mofro, Clay Cook, Coy Bowles & The Fellowship, The James Arthur Band, John Driskell Hopkins & Balsam Range and Southern Ground Artists such as Blackberry Smoke, Nic Cowan, Dugas, Sonia Leigh, Levi Lowrey, The Wheeler Boys and The Wood Brothers.
In addition to awesome music, concertgoers have the pleasure of enjoying gourmet cuisine. Under the helm of Southern Ground Executive Chef Rusty Hamlin, this foodie event includes offerings from “Cookie,” Zac Brown Band’s tractor trailer-sized mobile kitchen. Additionally, Southern cuisine will be showcased by chefs that include Chef RJ Cooper of ROGUE 24, Chef Kevin Johnson of The Grocery, Chef Michelle Weaver of Charleston Grill, Chef David Guas of Bayou Bakery. To feast on these great eats, you have to purchase seats in the Front Porch Stage Boxes. Don’t worry if you don’t get those seats as local favorite Home Team BBQwill be on hand to cater for the VIPs as well as have a smokin’ concession set up.
