My Sister’s House Announces 4th Annual Bubbly and Brew

My Sister’s House presents the 4th Annual Bubbly and Brew sponsored by Lucey Mortgage Corporation on Friday, September 28th from 7-11pm at Harborside East in Mount Pleasant. Guests will dine on tasty food selections from Home Team BBQ, High Thyme Cuisine, Rue de Jean, Long Island Cafe, The Glass Onion, Kudzu Bakery and more as well as sip on champagne, wine, and beers from local brewers. Additionally, there will be a live and silent auction plus live music from party band Love Butter. Tickets are $60 in advance or $75 at the door.

“We are fortunate to have additional sponsorship from Carolina One, Eskimo Advertising, State Farm, Lowcountry Women’s Specialists, Glaser Duncan, Rhino Shield, Piggly Wiggly, Innovative Theater and Sound, Pints for the People, The Raven Family, Jon and Hayley Carter, Beacon Communications, City Corridor, Johnson and Lanning CPAs and Waterstone Financial Services,” said My Sister’s House Executive Director Elmire Raven. “It is these and all donations that will provide services, programs and resources to empower victims of domestic violence and their children to live free from abuse.”

Founded in 1980, My Sister’s House is the only shelter-based program serving domestic violence victims in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. The money raised will be used in a variety of ways to continue to help women and children live violence-free by providing 24-hour crisis line and shelter, deposits on new safe apartments, children’s clothing for school, legal help, counseling and much more.

Share Our Suzy Presents It’s Black & White in Mount Pleasant

Please join SOS: Share Our Suzy for its 4th Annual It’s Black and White benefit party on Saturday, January 21st from 7-11pm at Harborside East in Mount Pleasant. Surrounded by breathtaking views of the Charleston harbor, the black tie event with a nautical spin will feature live musical entertainment by Atlanta’s renowned party band, Yacht Rock Schooner, as well as amazing food by Granville’s Catering, fun adult beverages and more! Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about the needs of breast cancer patients, ways to assist and directly impact the lives of women battling the disease in the Charleston area.

SOS helps South Carolina breast cancer patients and their families by providing assistance to ease their journey from diagnosis to recovery. Unlike other breast cancer organizations, SOS bridges the financial gap for day to day expenses that insurance does not cover. Share Our Suzy was originally started as an effort to aid local photographer Suzy McGrane who ultimately lost her battle with cancer in 2005. While in remission Suzy took over SOS to help others with cancer. The SOS Foundation continues Suzy’s mission to allow patients to focus solely on recovery and remission, not the financial stress brought on by this difficult battle.

My Sister’s House presents the 3rd Annual Bubbly & Brew on Thursday, September 29th from 6-10pm at scenic Harborside East in Mount Pleasant. This celebrated event will offer tasty food donated from local restaurants including Home Team BBQ, High Thyme, Sticky Fingers, The Glass Onion, Raising Cane and Gullah Cuisine as well as champagne, cocktails and beers from local brewers. Additionally, there will be a silent auction with proceeds going to My Sister’s House and live music from party band Love Butter.

Founded in 1980, My Sister’s House, Inc., is a nonprofit organization that provides services, programs and resources to empower domestic violence victims and their children to live free from abuse. The organization operates an emergency temporary shelter at an undisclosed location for up to 36 women and children who flee abusive situations in Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties.
