Drifter Fest: The Inaugural Bert Griggs Memorial Jam

Drifter Fest: The Inaugural Bert Griggs Memorial Jam will be held on March 6th-8th. The event will celebrate the life of Bert Griggs after he died unexpectedly in December. Enjoy a weekend of fun events combined with great company, stories and live music.

FRIDAY, MARCH 6TH: 

Drifter Fest: Pre-Jam at Home Team BBQ Downtown (126 Williman Street) from 8pm-11pm with live music featuring our friends SHONUFF.

SATURDAY, MARCH 7TH
Doors for the Drifter Fest: The Inaugural Bert Griggs Memorial Jam open at 8pm at the Charleston Pour House (1977 Maybank Hwy.). Inside the venue from 8:30pm-1am, guests will enjoy a collaboration of Bert’s favorite tunes from many of his friends including Reid Stone and bands Gaslight Street, The Travelin’ Kine, SHONUFF, Solid Country Gold and more.

SUNDAY, MARCH 8TH:
We’ll be vending Drifter Merch at Reckoning in the Park featuring The Reckoning, an awesome Grateful Dead cover band from 2pm-5pm in the meadow at James Island County Park.

Drifter Merch will be available for sale on Saturday and Sunday as well as the awesome event poster created by TRiPPs Prints and Bert’s portrait by artist Jason Moore.

Folly Gras 2019

Folly Gras will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 10 AM – 4 PM on Folly Beach, SC. A Folly Gras tradition, the annual parade will kick-off at 11 am, entering from West Ashley and exiting on East Hudson. Dressed in their Folly Gras finest, folks from all over the Low Country take to Center Street to spread Folly Gras cheer. Festivities include dozens of arts, crafts and fashion vendors, live music, free kids’ activities, and, of course, lots of delicious food and drinks.

Folly’s participating restaurants and bars will be serving up some New Orleans inspired dishes on the street and in their establishments. Enjoy $5 Deep Eddy cocktails all day at participating locations. There will be live music on three stages with performances by Dangermuffin, Sunny Ledfurd, and more! A dedicated children’s area will feature the Good Clean Fun crew, caricatures, face painting, inflatables, and crafts. Thirty arts, crafts, and fashion vendors will line Center Street for your shopping pleasure. Everything from music apparel, photography, jewelry, soaps, tarot readings, paintings and more!

Advance Tickets for Folly Gras are $10 offering express entry. Admission is free for full-time Folly Beach residents that have a valid I, as well as kids 12 and under.

Jam on the Water Concert Series

The Carolina Queen will set sail for a two hour entertaining cruise featuring some great tributes to a classic rock band, Drifter Merch selling music-inspired tees, ad seasonal selections from Sweetwater plus a full wine and liquor bar. Ballpark Festival of Beers

The 15th Annual Ballpark Festival of Beers presented by Kickin’ Chicken will be held on Saturday, August 26th at Joe Riley Park. Sample over 100 American and international ales, stouts, lagers, pilsners and specialty brews. The evening will start out with the Blue Plantation Band who are an acoustic string band with a diverse variety of authentic musical styles including Bluegrass, Irish, Folk, Country, Swing and Jazz. Plan to dance the away with Midnight City.

Vendors include Towne Centre Tobacco, Charleston City Paper, InTown, Charleston Henna, Kickin’ 92.5, Mix96, Nectar Sunglasses, Grit Box Fitness, Green Taxi, Caroline Apartments, Drifter Merch, The Standard at James Island Apartment, Wharf 7, Cooper River Farms, Contract Exteriors, Harbor Entrepreneur Center, and Hoover Mitsubishi.

Tickets are $30 general admission and $60 for VIP tickets and available at any area Kickin’ Chicken. $35 tickets are available at the RiverDogs Box Office or at RileyParkEvents.com.  VIP  includes 6pm early entry, 25 sampling tickets (instead of 18), and access to the Kickin’ Chicken VIP Lounge which includes light snacks and refreshments.

10th Annual FollyGras Parade & Street Festival

16508480_10211398866025934_4601364528459334565_nThe 10th Annual FollyGras Parade & Street Festival will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25th on Folly Beach. A Mardi Gras celebration like no other, FollyGras has quickly become one of the island’s most anticipated community events. Center Street restaurants will have food booths set up in front of their businesses throughout the duration of the parade & festival, serving Cajun or Creole off-menu items. A few new additions have been added to this year’s event, such as a children’s pet parade & kids activities throughout the day as well as more local food and various crafts and art vendors such as Drifter Merch and Zinnialou Jewelry. Live music will be performed by Gaslight Street, Soul Fish, Josh Roberts & The Hinges and The Island Trio. As always, the festival is family-friendly and free to attend.

Center Street will be closed at 10 a.m. Any cars left on Center Street overnight or that morning are subject to towing. The parade lineup will start at 10:30 a.m. on 1st & 2nd Blocks of W. Arctic Ave. The parade will begin as close to 12:00 noon as possible, with the street festival immediately following.

pohoThe Charleston Pour House’s Annual Holiday Market will return on Thursday, December 8th from 4-9pm in the back of the Charleston Pour House at 1977 Maybank Hwy. Featuring local products, music and merriment, The Pour House will be transformed into a holiday wonderland, filled with live music, artisan vendors, and great food. Entry is FREE and everyone of all ages is welcome.

The Latin-American food truck ElBo’ Truckin’ will be on hand for food, and The Lot, the farm-to-table, adjacent restaurant, will also be open for dinner service. Drifter Merch Offers Vintage-Style Designs

Drifter Merch is a new apparel and art website featuring innovative designs with something for every music lover. The company started by offering high quality vintage-style music-inspired t-shirts printed here in South Carolina. More recently, Drifter Merch has expanded to offer art on reclaimed wood by State Pallets and Ridley Stallings Art. Focusing on the owners’ love of live music, various designs included paying homage to their favorite bands that include the Allman Brothers, Govt. Mule, Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic and Neil Young.
