Trondossa Music and Arts Festival

The inaugural Trondossa Music & Arts Festival will take place on May 5 & 6th at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. The festival will feature Widespread Panic and Grammy award-winning country music and roots rock singer-songwriter Sturgill Simpson each performing twice. There will also be sets from country singer-songwriter Margo Price, indie-alternative rock band Moon Taxi, folk music band Hiss Golden Messenger and Big Something fusing elements of rock, pop, funk, and improvisation.

Junco Partner Live at The Commodore

Junco Partner will be playing live at The Commodore on Thursday, September 7th from 9:00 – 11:00 with a $7 admission at the door.

Based out of Charleston, SC, Junco Partner delves into the realm of funky rock jams. The group features Joe Keenan, vocals / guitar, Matt Hastings, bass and Kevin Wadley, and TJ Dildy on guitars, Jack Friel, drums and Alan Brisedine on keys. Spirited vocals and playfully verbed guitar tones are common place with their music and lend to versatile bass melodies and driving drum rhythms. This weekend, Aug. 11-12, The Haraway Brothers will make Charleston’s Home Team BBQ their home, playing on Sullivan’s Island on Friday night and Downtown on Saturday. Lee & Will Haraway, founders of The Sundogs, are celebrating their debut record together, titled “The Haraway Brothers Wish You Love & Luck in the World”, which you can listen to on iTunes, Spotify and right here.

Friday Night’s show starts at 10 PM on Sullivan’s Island with $5 cover, while Saturday starts at 7 PM on the outdoor stage at HTBBQ downtown and is free. Come listen to every song from you new favorite album plus some Sundogs tunes and other fun choice covers.

Palmetto Brewgrass Festival

palThe Awendaw Green family and Palmetto Brewery are teaming up to present a two-day bluegrass festival on May 6-8. The weekend, in support of the local music scene and for the love of all things beer and bluegrass, will begin on Friday with a special show featuring Mike Farris, Kim Richey, and Brian Ashley Jones at Charleston Music Hall. The Bluegrass festival will kick off on Saturday and Sunday at 1pm at  Palmetto Brewery bringing together more than a dozen regionally acclaimed country bluegrass bands and artists. Festivalgoers will enjoy up-tempo and energetic bluegrass music, delicious Palmetto beer and multiple food-trucks. The Festival will feature performances by Southbound 17, Chewbacky, Pinkerton and the Brinks, Dallas Baker and Friends, Southern Flavor Bluegrass, John Stickley Trio, Love Canon, Cane Creek String Band, Triangle Bluegrass, Red Cedar Review, Forlorn Strangers Della Mae and Gravel Road Acoustic.

“Palmetto Brewery is like the front porch of downtown Charleston. All kinds of people from all parts of the city gather on that porch to have a good time,” said Awendaw Green’s organizer Eddie White. “The Brewgrass Festival is us inviting a bunch of insanely awesome bluegrass musicians up on that porch to do what they do best. It’s gonna have all of the excitement of a festival, with the feel-good vibes of a house show where the beer is better.”

Music and Oysters for Wildlife

2The 11th annual Music and Oysters for Wildlife will be held at Sewee Outpost this Saturday from 1:30pm-6pm! Musical talent includes at 1:30pm Lincoln Middle High Steel Band, at 2pm The Loose Hinges, at 2pm Cravin’ Melon & Friends, at 4:30pm Red Dog Ramblers and at 5:30pm Danielle Howle. There will be a Silent Auction, beer, wine, soft drinks, BBQ and burgers for purchase. This annual event will be held rain or shine. Tickets are $35 advance tix / $40 day of includes all you can eat Bulls Bay oysters. Children under 12 get in free. Click here to purchase.

This is a benefit for environmental education group Friends of Coastal South Carolina.  The guiding vision of Friends of Coastal South Carolina is shaped by dedication to preserving the ecosystems and wildlife of the South Carolina coast for future generations. 5th Annual Gimme Shelter

Operation Home has rescheduled the 5th Annual Gimme Shelter event on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 7:0010:00 p.m at The Alley downtown. 131 Columbus Street. The always fun party will feature a silent auction and the opportunity to win a 2015 Scout 177 Sport Yamaha 70 and Trailer Boat, valued at $30,000. In addition to bowling and arcade games, New Orleans’ based New Breed Brass Band will also be entertaining the crowd with their funk, rock, jazz, and hip-hop repertoire.

The success of this annual event is made possible by the gracious sponsors that include Home Team BBQ,  Scout Boats, South State Bank, Gorman Financial Group, Northwestern Mutual, and One Eleven Partners,

Tickets for Gimme Shelter are $20 per person and include admission, food by award-winning Home Team BBQ, games, and entertainment.
