Taste of the Market Held Every Third Thursday in Downtown Charleston

TasteCity Market Hospitality Association and Charleston Culinary Tours present Taste of the Market every third Thursday at Palmetto Carriage Company Lot on Anson Street. Attendees enjoy free samples and gift card raffles from market area restaurants as well as a different chef demonstration each month. Holy City Brewery is now on hand selling $4 domestics and $5 craft beers. Additionally, there is live music and a children’s area. Tickets are $10 with a portion of the proceeds to benefit Hospitality Heroes and free for children 10 and under.

“As we move into 2014 with the Taste of the Market, we look forward to building additional momentum and enthusiasm within the community,” said Charleston Culinary Tours co-owner Oscar Hines. “Taste of the Market has been getting locals and tourists alike excited about coming back to the City Market area again as they realize the Charleston classics are still there while discovering the newer restaurants and merchants that continue to bring vitality to the area.”

Charleston Culinary Tours combine the best of Charleston history, cocktails and food with unique tours that highlight the lowcountry. Each of the five Charleston Culinary Tours visit several different restaurants, bars or the Farmer’s Market to combine elements of a historical tour with a culinary adventure. City Market Hospitality Association promotes businesses in and around Historic Market Street in Charleston, SC. This group organizes events and fundraisers to support the community as a whole while cross promoting the area businesses.
